Yes. Battery storage qualifies for 0% VAT when installed alongside solar panels or added to an existing solar installation. This applies until 31 March 2027. On a £4,500 battery, this saves you £900 compared to the standard 20% VAT rate. The 0% rate is applied automatically.

Standard battery installations do not provide backup during grid outages for safety reasons. However, Tesla Powerwall and some other systems offer optional EPS (Emergency Power Supply) or backup gateway features that can power essential circuits during outages. This requires additional hardware at installation. Ask us about backup options during your free survey.

Battery installation takes half a day to one full day depending on system complexity. If added during a new solar installation, it adds no extra time. Retrofit installations to existing solar systems typically take one day including inverter replacement if needed. From enquiry to installation takes 3–6 weeks.
