What is covered
Every system comes with comprehensive warranties and an insurance-backed guarantee. No add-ons, no upsells.
30-year panel performance warranty
Panels guaranteed above 90% output at year 30
Our solar panels carry a 30-year performance warranty guaranteeing output above 90% of their rated capacity at the end of year 30. Typical degradation is approximately 0.4% per year — well within the warranty threshold. A separate 15-year product warranty covers manufacturing defects.
10-year battery warranty
Hanchu LiFePO4 batteries — built for longevity
The Hanchu LiFePO4 (lithium iron phosphate) battery carries a 10-year warranty. LiFePO4 chemistry offers superior cycle life, thermal stability, and safety compared to NMC alternatives. Expect 6,000+ cycles before reaching 80% retained capacity.
10-year inverter warranty
Hanchu ESS hybrid inverter — covered for a decade
The Hanchu ESS hybrid inverter is warranted for 10 years covering parts and labour. The hybrid design manages both solar generation and battery storage in a single unit, reducing potential failure points.
Insurance-backed guarantee
Independent Warranty Association — your safety net
Every installation comes with an insurance-backed guarantee through the Independent Warranty Association. If the installing company — Home Heating Services (Scotland) Ltd — were to cease trading during the warranty period, your guarantee is still honoured. This is a requirement of TrustMark registration.
Bird proofing included as standard
Mesh guards fitted at installation — no extras to buy
Bird-proofing mesh is fitted around the panel array during installation at no additional cost. This prevents pigeons and other birds from nesting beneath the panels, which can cause wiring damage, mess, and reduced airflow. Many installers charge extra for this — we include it as standard.
All warranties are provided by the respective manufacturers and administered through Home Heating Services (Scotland) Ltd, our MCS-registered installation partner. The insurance-backed guarantee is underwritten through the Independent Warranty Association.

Aftercare
Our relationship does not end at handover. Here is what ongoing aftercare includes.
Remote monitoring
We monitor your system's output remotely and can often identify faults before you notice them. If generation drops unexpectedly, we investigate.
Fault diagnosis and resolution
If something goes wrong, call 0141 230 0198. We diagnose the issue remotely where possible and arrange an engineer visit by our installation partner if needed — covered under warranty.
Smart Export Guarantee setup
We help you register for the Smart Export Guarantee (SEG) so you get paid for every unit of electricity you export to the grid. We walk you through the application and confirm you are receiving payments.
Annual check-in
We review your system's performance annually to ensure everything is running as expected. If your energy usage has changed, we can advise on optimisation.
Complaints procedure
We hope you never need this, but you deserve to know the process. There are three levels of resolution available to you.
- 1
Step 1: Contact us directly
Call 0141 230 0198 or email us. We aim to acknowledge your complaint within 2 working days and resolve it within 10 working days. Most issues are resolved at this stage.
- 2
Step 2: Dispute resolution
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can escalate through TrustMark's dispute resolution service. Our installation partner, Home Heating Services (Scotland) Ltd, is TrustMark registered (No. 3559930), which provides independent dispute resolution.
- 3
Step 3: TrustMark Alternative Dispute Resolution
As a final step, the TrustMark ADR scheme provides an independent arbitration process. Our installation partner is TrustMark registered (No. 3559930). The decision of the ADR provider is binding on the business.
The MCS, TrustMark and Gas Safe accreditations referenced above are held by Home Heating Services (Scotland) Ltd (MCS IAA10151, TrustMark No. 3559930, Gas Safe 559575), our MCS-registered installation partner.
