All installation work is carried out by Home Heating Services (Scotland) Ltd (company number SC484353), who hold MCS certification (IAA10151), TrustMark registration (3559930), and Gas Safe registration (559575). These accreditations belong to the installation partner, not to Scottish Energy Efficiency.
Who reviews our content
Every page on this site is reviewed by the Scottish Energy Efficiency technical team. The team combines practical renewable-energy experience with knowledge of Scottish grant schemes and UK building regulations. Content is written to inform, not to sell — we aim to give homeowners the facts they need to make confident decisions.
How facts are checked
Every factual claim on this site is verified against official, publicly accessible sources before publication. We cross-reference:
- Grant amounts and eligibility against Home Energy Scotland and Scottish Government publications.
- Regulatory requirements (e.g. MCS certification, Smart Export Guarantee rules) against Ofgem and MCS documentation.
- Product specifications against manufacturer datasheets and MCS product directory listings.
- Accreditation and registration numbers against the relevant public registers (Companies House, MCS register, TrustMark register, Gas Safe register).
How often we review
Different types of information change at different speeds. Our review cadence reflects this:

What we don’t do
Trust is built by being clear about boundaries. We commit to the following:
We never invent figures.
Every number — savings estimates, grant values, product specifications — comes from a verifiable source.
We never quote outdated grant amounts.
Grant figures are checked monthly. If a scheme changes between reviews, we update the page as soon as we become aware.
We never claim accreditations we don’t hold.
MCS, TrustMark, and Gas Safe accreditations belong to our installation partner, Home Heating Services (Scotland) Ltd. We always attribute them correctly.
How to report an error
