Scottish Energy Efficiency is an impartial advisory business. We assess your property, design the right system, handle the paperwork — grants, DNO applications, planning — and manage your project from enquiry to handover. We work for you, not for any manufacturer or lender.
Installation is carried out by Home Heating Services (Scotland) Ltd (company number SC484353), our long-standing installation partner. They hold the accreditations that matter:
- MCS-registered for Solar PV, Battery Storage, and Air Source Heat Pumps — required for grant eligibility and the Smart Export Guarantee
- TrustMark registered (No. 3559930) — the UK government’s endorsed quality scheme
This model — independent advice plus certified installation — means you get honest guidance on what you actually need, not what earns the biggest commission. Craig works for the client. The installer and the lender are partners, not employers.
The MCS, TrustMark and Gas Safe accreditations named above are held by Home Heating Services (Scotland) Ltd, not by Scottish Energy Efficiency. They appear here with the partner’s express permission and have been cleared with MCS.

Who does the work
Every installation is carried out by directly employed engineers from our MCS-registered partner. No subcontracting of core work.
Survey and design
Qualified surveyors assess your property, design the optimal system, and produce detailed plans. Every system is tailored to your specific property and energy use.
Installation
MCS-registered engineers from Home Heating Services Scotland carry out all roofing, electrical, and commissioning work. All hold relevant qualifications including NAPIT electrical certification.
Aftercare
From your first enquiry through to monitoring and warranty support, our team manages scheduling, grant applications, DNO notifications, and ongoing support. Call 0141 230 0198.

Our office is in Dundee, giving us access to all of Scotland. We regularly carry out work from the Scottish Borders to the Highlands, and everywhere in between. Your DNO is either SPEN (Central Belt and South) or SSEN (Highlands and North East) — we handle the application for both.
